Prerequisites for Using Smart Cards for Access

The following are required for protection of Management Tool access when using Smart Cards:

• A Domain Controller with Active Directory.

• A Certification Authority.

• Smart Cards with enrolled Client certificates from the Certification Authority.

• The Ekran System Management Tool is installed on a server that is a member of a domain.

To be able to use Smart Cards for Management Tool access, do the following:

1. Set up the Client Certificate Mapping Authentication Role.

2. Configure Client Certificate Mapping Authentication.
