Cloning a Virtual Machine with the Client Installed on It

Each Windows Client has its own unique ID, which it receives when it connects to the Application Server.

To use a cloned virtual machine (VM) with the Client installed on it, do the following:

1. After cloning the virtual machine, change the hostname of the VM.

2. Reboot the VM.

3. After rebooting, the new Client for the cloned VM will be registered, will have received a new unique ID, and will be displayed in Management Tool (on the Client Management page).

NOTE: If the hostname is not changed after cloning the VM, the Client for the cloned VM will be unable to connect to the Application Server (since a Client with the same hostname and unique ID already exists). The Application Server will deny such connections, and an appropriate message will be displayed on the Health Monitoring page in the Management Tool.
