Applying Client Group Settings to a Client

When a Client belongs to a Client group, the Client settings can be inherited from this Client group.

In this case, the Client settings are changed whenever the Client group settings are changed.

To edit the Client configuration by changing the Client group settings, do the following:

1. Log in to the Management Tool as a user with the Client Configuration Management permission for Clients.

2. Click the Client Management navigation link (on the left).

3. On the Client Management page, select the Client Groups tab, and find the required Client group, and then click on its name in the Client Group Name column.

NOTE: To find specific Client groups, the Search box at the top of the Client Groups page can be used.

4. On the Editing Client Group page that opens, edit the Client group properties, permissions, and alerts on the corresponding tabs.

5. Click the Finish button (in the bottom right of the page).

To edit the Client configuration by applying Client group settings to the Client, do the following:

1. Log in to the Management Tool as a user with the Client Configuration Management permission for Clients.

2. Click the Client Management navigation link (on the left).

3. On the Client Management page, find the Client which you want to edit the configuration of, and click its name in the Client Name column.

NOTE: To find specific Clients, the Search box and filters at the top of the Client Management page can be used.

NOTE: If you do not have the Client Configuration Management permission for Clients for this Client, editing of the configuration options will be disabled.

4. On the Editing Client page that opens, select the Client Groups tab, and add the Client to the Client group which you want the Client to inherit the configuration from by clicking the Apply link next to the required Client group (on the right).

5. The Client Settings Type (on the Editing Client page, on the Properties tab, in the Client Properties section) changes to Inherited from <group name> and the Apply link changes to the word “Applied” next to this Client group )on the right).

6. Click the Finish button (in the bottom right of the page).
