Configuring Password Management
To be able to use the Password Management feature, first do the following:
1. Make sure that you have an activated product license serial key that includes the Password Management (PAM) application and features, and PAM seat licenses.
2. Optionally, to be able to use Active Directory account secrets, first configure an LDAP target.
3. Assign PAM seat licenses to users (on the User Management page) for them to be able to use the PAM functionality (i.e. for users to get access to both the Password Management and the Account Discovery pages in the Management Tool, and also to the Syteca Connection Manager on a computer used as a jump server to connect to the privileged accounts by using the corresponding account secrets).
4. Configure the Client on the Windows computer that secrets will be used on by way of the Syteca Connection Manager.
5. Add secrets manually, or use Account Discovery to find and then onboard the accounts discovered into secrets.
6. Users having the corresponding PAM seat licenses and permissions for secrets can then connect to the corresponding privileged accounts, by using the secrets in the Syteca Connection Manager.
